- to be informed of the identity of those serving on Lifeline's Board of Director's.
- to be assured that the information about gifts is handled with respect and with confidentiality to the extent provided by the law.
- to expect that all relationships with individuals representing Lifeline to the giver will be professional.
- to have access to Lifeline's most recent financial statements.
- to be assured gifts will be used for the purposes for which they were given.
- to feel free to ask questions when giving a gift and to receive prompt, truthful and forthright answers.
- to be informed whether those seeking gifts are volunteers or employees of Lifeline.
- to not have their names distributed on any mailing or otherwise public lists.

The Canada Customs and Revenue Agency (CCRA) recognizes charitable giving. An individual who makes a gift to a charity may be entitled to a credit against tax otherwise payable. For more information refer to the CCRA's Bulletin IT-110R3 titled "Gifts and Official Donation Receipts"
