History of Heartbeat Homecare

Heartbeat Homecare was an outreach that catered to the impoverished shut-ins in the downtown core of Vancouver. There was a need for volunteers to deliver groceries to people who were housebound due to age, chronic sickness, or injury. It involved spending considerable time talking, listening, and assisting in the delivery of grocery bags to those who find it too difficult to come to the bus. This outreach was often the only personal contact these lonely individuals experienced.

Fellowship is God’s way of speaking to His children. By going out into the community, helping those who can’t leave their homes, we brought hope to them. It’s the little things that matter most in the world. Especially to those who can’t help themselves.

In the past, voluntees joined us in helping those who need help in the community. They commited to taking on the leadership role and wanted to minister to those less fortunate in this way.
